COVID-19 Statement

The following outlines New Tampa Foot & Ankle’s UPDATED extra-precautionary proactive measures in response to the COVID-19 Pandemic. These measures will remain in place indefinitely as we are taking these measures due to regional COVID-19 numbers rising, as well as, anticipating the upcoming cold & flu season converging with a possible second wave of COVID-19. We ask for each person’s understanding and to be respectful of us as a medical provider having to practice responsibly.

  1. Please notify us IMMEDIATEY if you have recently traveled outside the area, been on an airplane, or been on a cruise ship. We will need to reschedule your appointment. This is for the safety of our staff and all patients.
  1. When checking in, you will notice there is NO SIGN-IN SHEET. Simply tell us your last name so that we can mark you as here and escort you immediately to a treatment room.
  1. ONLY THE PATIENT MAY BE IN THE OFFICE DURING AN APPOINTMENT. The ONLY exceptions are as follows: Elderly patients may have ONE person accompany them IF NEEDED to assist getting in and out of the treatment area; pediatric patients may have ONE parent/guardian accompany them. All other family and friends are to remain in their vehicles until the patient appointment is completed. This is necessary to limit the maximum number people in the office at any given time.
  1. For new patients, or those who have not been in for over three years, please complete patient FORMS ONLINE PRIOR TO YOUR ARRIVAL. If able, print/sign/bring HIPAA/Financial forms with you. If unable to complete online prior to arrival, arrive 30 MINUTES PRIOR TO YOUR APPOINTMENT TO ALLOW ENOUGH TIME TO COMPLETE PAPERWORK BEFORE YOUR SCHEDULED TIME WITH THE DOCTOR. Arriving at or after your appointment time without having completed paperwork will cause delay and/or disruption to the overall schedule resulting in the likelihood of having to reschedule your appointment (see #5 below).
  1. We are scheduling in intervals so that each patient will be escorted directly to a treatment room upon arrival; therefore, if someone is late, we may need to reschedule the appointment for a later time. This is necessary to limit to maximum number people in the office at any given timeframe, as well as, to allow enough time to appropriately clean and sanitize.
  1. Due to the recent COVID-19 numbers in our region, we are requiring ALL PATIENTS TO ARRIVE WEARING A MASK AND/OR MOUTH/NOSE COVERING. Something as simple as a tee shirt or scarf will suffice. As stated earlier, this is in anticipation of an upcoming cold & flu season converging with a possible second wave of COVID-19. We simply do not have enough masks to supply patients.
  1. We will continue to wipe down/clean all counters, clipboards, pens, bathrooms, chairs, rooms, etc., AS WE HAVE ALWAYS DONE, EVEN PRIOR TO THE COVID-19 PANDEMIC.
